Privacy policy
Last updated: 28 March 2026
The Bot Market is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've written it in plain English because nobody should need a law degree to understand how their data is handled.
What we collect
Email address: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is the only piece of personal information we ask for. We use it solely to send you our newsletter.
Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use our site. This collects anonymised data such as which pages you visit, how long you stay, and what country you're browsing from. We use this to improve our content and understand what our readers find useful.
Cookies
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. These are first-party cookies set by Google's analytics script. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We also store a theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser's local storage. This is not a cookie and is not sent to any server.
Third-party services
Google Analytics 4: Analytics and traffic measurement. Google's privacy policy applies to data they process on our behalf.
Buttondown: We use Buttondown to manage our newsletter. When you subscribe, your email address is stored by Buttondown. You can read Buttondown's privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
Vercel: Our site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs including IP addresses. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Your rights
Unsubscribe: Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you're removed.
Data deletion: If you want us to delete any data we hold about you, email privacy@thebotmarket.com and we'll handle it promptly.
Access: You have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. In practice, this is likely just your email address if you've subscribed to the newsletter.
